Day-one setup guide for new Miporeans — laptop, accounts, software, and getting started

New Employee Onboarding 🚀

Welcome, new Miporean! Follow this guide step by step on your first day.


Step 1: Receive Your Laptop

Your senior or manager will hand you your company laptop. Please inspect it and confirm everything works — screen, keyboard, charger.

Keep your laptop in good condition. You are responsible for any damage or loss (see Company Equipment policy).


Step 2: Set Up Your Accounts

Log in to Google Workspace with the team email. This gives you access to:

  • Gmail — team email & communication
  • Google Drive — shared files, pricelists, product assets
  • Google Sheets — pricelists, stock lists, reports
  • Google Calendar — team schedules

Your senior will help you log in to the platforms relevant to your role:

Step 3: Install Software

Install the following on your laptop:

⚠️ Use Chrome as your default browser — all our bookmarks and platform logins are set up there.


Step 4: Set Up Your Bookmark Bar

Your Chrome bookmark bar contains quick links to all the tools and dashboards you'll use daily. This is your command centre.

To set up:

  1. Log in to Chrome with the team Google account
  2. Enable the Bookmark Bar (Ctrl + Shift + B)
  3. Your senior will walk you through each bookmark — what it is, when to use it

Take time to familiarize yourself with every item in the bookmark bar. These are the tools you'll use every day.


Step 5: Company Phone

You may be assigned a company phone for WhatsApp Business and customer communication.

Your senior will assign you the relevant phone and WhatsApp account.


Step 6: Chrome Extensions

Chrome extensions help you work faster. Check what's installed and learn what each one does:

Step 7: Timesheet

You'll track your work hours via a Google Sheet timesheet.

  • Where to find it: Ask your senior for the shared Google Sheet link
  • How often: Fill in daily
  • What to log: Clock-in/out times, overtime, leave

Step 8: Employee Registration

Your senior will guide you through employee registration:

  • Company email setup
  • EPF / SOCSO / EIS registration
  • Bank account details for payroll
  • Emergency contact form

Step 9: First Salary & Salary Slip

  • Salary is paid before the 7th of each month (see Policies)
  • You will receive a salary slip — ask your senior where to access it
  • Deductions: EPF, SOCSO, EIS, income tax (if applicable)

Step 10: Processes — Claims

  • How to submit expense claims
  • What's claimable (transport, meals during OT, etc.)
  • Approval process
